Applying for mystery shops

You are venturing into what is a highly competitive market, attracting top talent. You will have to distinguish yourself and stand out from the crowd. You need to get noticed, recognized, remembered and referred for being amongst, if not the best at what you do.

Pick assignments that appeal to you and that are a good fit for your skill-set and expertise

Open Accounts with many Mystery Shopping Companies and providers, industry players, leaders and referral networks

Paying nothing and opening an account, that enables you to work with them is all you need to do, if you want to get started right away.

Most companies require detailed background and logistical, contact information, expertise you bring to the role and why you want certain tasks, will be good at it.

Many providers have and require you to create a Mystery Shopper profile to show your strengths. Detailed information and responses (where required), should be meticulously filled out.

Put your best foot forward and share your expertise when it matters.

Alerts and areas can be selected to help you become aware of opportunities in your area, that becomes available. Get on the messages boards and partake in the discussions, reading threads, blogs and online chats on what the industry is up to and where the opportunities are

Register for and with new companies, providers and opportunities to establish new relationships and partnerships that might have great potential moving forward.

Strike while the iron is hot. When there are new chances, locations, clients, postings/listings act sooner rather than later. Do not postpone or delay your response. Checking in frequently on what is available should be almost second nature and a daily priority.

Capitalize on the opportunities in your area, especially if there are more mystery shoppers than opportunities. Be the one of choice, by being accessible, visible, reputable and reliable.

As the opportunities list and/or become available in the public domain you need to pitch your interest quickly, directly and sooner, rather than later. Set up a schedule and targets for Mystery Shopper activities.
